WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?

Every project is so different, a multitude of factors come into play when pricing and planning a project. For this reason, I don’t have set rates, once we’ve talked, I’ll know what we’re looking at. Drop me a quote request here.

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT/DEPOSIT POLICY?

A one time, non-refundable* security deposit is required to book any dates. This deposit is 40% of the total project price. It is due within 7 (seven) days after negotiating your final price and dates. If the client fails to pay the deposit within the time allotted, the dates are open to anyone. The final payment of the project is due within seven days after the project is complete.

HOW DO I GO ABOUT BOOKING?

Please fill out the request a quote form on the homepage.

DOES A BAND/MUSICIAN HAVE TO BRING THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT?

No, but you must check with the studio to see if it has what you need. There is a charge for rental as we bring the gear in on a per client basis. This charge goes straight to the hire company, not myself.

HOW CAN I GET A JOB AT THE STUDIO?

Are you an editing genius? You can comp vocals like a demon? If you’ve got something you think benefits my studio, drop me an email to givemeajob@pashstratton.co.uk.

WHATS THE NAME OF YOUR STUDIO?

It doesn’t actually have one, it’s just me I guess!

I WANT TO GET MY PROJECT MIXED AND MASTERED; HOW DO I SEND YOU FILES?

FILE PREP FOR MIXING
A Cubase .cbr is the preferred file format for mixing. All other session file type users must have all tracks from the session bounced down and set to zero with all effects taken off. The files must be bounced down to 44.1 kHz 24 bit. Session notes are required, they can be sent with the audio files as a ‘.txt’ file or in an email.
FILE PREPARATION FOR MASTERING
There are 2 types of mastering available to you, budget (traditional) mastering and stem mastering (much higher quality). For budget mastering all you have to do is mix down your song(s) in at least 24 bit stereo, send them to us, and you’re finished. For stem (also known as separation) mastering, you will need to mix down the traditional 24 bit stereo mix along with different groups of instruments or ‘stems’ for each song. Typically, you will mix down 4 stems per song which will consist of the following: drums (all percussion), bass, guitars (all other music in the song including keys, etc.), and vocals. Leave all the effects and automation on when mixing down the separate stems. Make sure you organize the songs and stems into folders; each folder should contain 5 files (4 stems and 1 24 bit mixdown of the song). The advantage of stem mastering is phenomenal .
HOW DO WE GET THE FILES TO YOU?
Upload to either Google Drive, Dropbox, or Wetransfer.
